Be Gracious To Us

Are you someone who thinks about God as majestic and unapproachable? Marvel at the intricacy of the design of the natural world and dismiss the idea of God as a Father, interested in the minute details of his children?

A Hebrew word 'chanân' pictures grace and mercy like a father stooped in kindness to help a child with a difficulty, or like a king giving a hand to someone seated to help him up from where he's fallen. No judgment just grace. This is just one of the words used for grace or mercy in the Old Testament, translated with the use of the Strong's Concordance.

One of the reasons to ask God for his mercy and grace is so others may find their way to God and experience salvation. Pray this psalm with other believers. Read it out loud. Sing it.

For the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments.

A Psalm. A song.

67

1 May God be merciful to us, bless us,

and cause his face to shine on us. Selah.

That your way may be known on earth,

and your salvation among all nations,

let the peoples praise you, God.

Let all the peoples praise you.

Oh let the nations be glad and sing for joy,

for you will judge the peoples with equity,

and govern the nations on earth. Selah.

Let the peoples praise you, God.

Let all the peoples praise you.

The earth has yielded its increase.

God, even our own God, will bless us.

God will bless us.

All the ends of the earth shall fear him.(WEB)
