(A Writer's Plea for Provision)
Why is it important for us to ask for 'our' daily bread?
Could it be we write for the benefit of others?
Not what 'I need' to write?
Fresh words
Fresh phrases
Not cliches that are old
Stale comparisons turn up noses
Attractively arranged words draw the eye
Refresh the palette
Revive a wilted soul
Yet this bread is daily
Sought
Requested
Not once and for all
A conversation
Between seeker and provider
It speaks of connection
Humility to say I cannot
We depend on you our Father
For nourishment from the One
Who is holy and hallowed
Who orchestrates the kingdom on earth as it is in heaven
Feed us your words
Your purpose
Your plans
Speak and we will be fed
Nourish our spirits, soul and body
So we can thrive
Be revived
