Demo to Reno

Some people say renovation starts with demolition, but I say it begins with vision. To envision a space and what to do in order to bring it to completion involves skills I don't have. But what happens when I communicate the vision to someone who has the skills, time and passion for renovation? I get a new bathroom or kitchen after I supply the resources for the project.

Proverbs 29:18 says in the King James Version that 'where there is no vision, the people perish'. In other versions, it speaks of revelation. "Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction."(NIV) The Creator of the universe has a vision, a prophetic vision for each one of us.

Galations 4:19 says it this way, "My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you." Ephesians 5:1,2 invites us to "Follow God's example, therefore as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

The beauty of this vision or revelation is that I don't have to supply the resources to complete this project. He is faithful to complete the good work. (Phil. 1:6) He provides everything I need for a life of godliness (II Peter 1:3) All my man-made constructs to be good enough are made of shoddy material and need removing. He tears that down too, as I confess and give my 'yes' to Him.

Aren't you glad the Creator has a vision for you and provides everything you need through the power of his Holy Spirit to get a makeover extraordinaire?

I'm so thankful that God not only provides the resources, but also completes the work! Great post, Tamara.

Thanks Kari, I'm reminded daily, that I am not in control. He is. I just need to remember to lean in and rest!
